GoGira! Content & Community Guidelines

Effective Date: September 15, 2025

GoGira! is a community for students (13+), families, schools, and partners to explore higher-education, career, and financial-aid pathways. To keep everyone safe and informed, these Guidelines apply to everything you post or do on GoGira!—including profiles, posts, comments, messages, images/audio/video, links, and in-app activities. By using GoGira!, you agree to follow these rules in addition to our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

1) Core Conduct
  1. Be respectful. No harassment, bullying, stalking, hateful or demeaning conduct.
  2. Be honest. No impersonation or misrepresentation.
  3. Protect privacy. Don't post or request others' personal data (e.g., home address, phone, school IDs, government IDs, SSNs, financial account numbers) and don't dox anyone.
  4. Use your own account only. Do not share or sell your account or credentials.
2) Prohibited Content & Activities

The following are not allowed and may result in removal, restrictions, or account termination:

  1. Child Safety & Exploitation
    • Any sexualized or exploitative content involving minors (actual, implied, or AI-generated), grooming, solicitation, or age-inappropriate romantic/sexual messaging.
    • We report apparent CSAM to NCMEC and law enforcement.
  2. Self-Harm, Suicide & Dangerous Acts
    • Content that promotes or instructs self-harm, suicide, eating disorders, or dangerous challenges.
    • Supportive, recovery, and educational content is allowed if non-graphic, non-instructive, and includes help resources.
  3. Violence, Threats & Extremism
    • Credible threats, incitement, glorification of violence, or promotion of violent or criminal organizations.
  4. Hate & Hate Speech
    • Attacks or slurs targeting protected characteristics (e.g., race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation). Debate is fine; dehumanization is not.
  5. Illegal or Regulated Goods/Services
    • Buying/selling/trading drugs, prescription meds, alcohol, tobacco/vapes, weapons, hacking tools, stolen data, counterfeit docs, or other illegal services.
  6. Scams, Fraud & Deception
    • Phishing, impersonation of schools/partners, pyramid schemes, "guaranteed admissions/scholarships," fake job offers, or financial scams.
  7. Academic Integrity Violations
    • Selling/procuring essays, answers, exam keys, or cheating tools; soliciting others to do your academic work.
  8. Sexual Content & Nudity
    • Sexually explicit content or sexual services. Educational content about health/sexuality must be age-appropriate, accurate, and non-graphic.
  9. Graphic Violence & Gore
    • Shock content, gore, or images/video designed to disgust or traumatize.
  10. Malware & Platform Abuse
    • Distributing malware, scraping without permission, manipulating metrics, mass spam, or interfering with platform security.
  11. Intellectual Property Infringement
    • Uploads that violate copyrights, trademarks, or other IP rights. (See DMCA in our Terms for notice/counter-notice.)
  12. Sensitive Personal Data
    • Don't solicit or share SSNs, bank/credit card numbers, precise home addresses, health records, or government IDs via posts or DMs. Use official, secure forms when requested within GoGira!.
3) Minor Safety (Ages 13-17)
  • No romantic/sexual messaging with minors; no requests for photos/videos that could be sexualized.
  • No off-platform contact pushes for sensitive topics (e.g., "text me," "Snap me")—keep first contact on-platform until trust and purpose are clear.
  • No collection of unnecessary personal details from minors (e.g., exact home address, schedules). Ask only what's reasonably necessary for the educational/career purpose.
  • Schools/Partners: Tailor content to an age-appropriate audience; avoid high-pressure tactics; disclose if a post is sponsored or promotional.
4) Schools, Partners & Ambassadors — Posting Standards
  • Truthful & substantiated. Claims about programs, admissions, outcomes, placement rates, or scholarships must be accurate and supportable. No guarantees.
  • Disclosures. Clearly disclose sponsored content or material connections ("Paid partnership with GoGira!/School X").
  • No discrimination. Do not target or exclude groups in violation of applicable laws or institutional policies.
  • No solicitation of sensitive data. No solicitation of sensitive data in posts/DMs; use approved secure forms.
  • No off-topic promotions. No off-topic promotions (crypto schemes, unrelated ecommerce, political fundraising, etc.).
5) Messaging & Interactions
  • Keep it relevant. Conversations should focus on education, careers, and financial-aid opportunities.
  • No spam. Don't send mass or repetitive messages; honor "stop" requests.
  • Block/Report tools. Users can Block or Mute accounts to stop contact.
6) Intellectual Property & Credits
  • Post only content you own or are authorized to use. Credit sources where appropriate.

7) Reporting, Moderation & Appeals
  • Report tools. Every post/profile includes a Report control. You can also report via the Help Center or email contact@gogira.com.
  • Acknowledgment within 24 hours. We acknowledge user reports within 24 hours and prioritize urgent risks.
  • Actions we may take. Labels/age-gating, content removal, feature limits, temporary suspension, or termination. We may notify law enforcement if required.
  • Strikes. Repeated or severe violations may lead to strikes and loss of features or access. Circumventing restrictions (e.g., new accounts) is a serious violation.
  • Appeals. If we remove your content or restrict your account, we'll tell you why and how to appeal.
8) Accessibility & Quality
  • Strive for clear, professional language; avoid profanity and slurs.
  • Use accurate captions/subtitles for important educational videos; add alt text when possible.
  • Share only high-quality, age-appropriate visuals.
9) Enforcement Scope

We may remove or restrict content or accounts anytime if doing so is reasonably necessary to protect users, comply with law, or enforce these Guidelines/our Terms. We'll provide notice unless doing so risks harm or legal issues.

10) Updates

We may update these Guidelines to reflect new features, risks, or laws. We'll notify users of materialchanges. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Guidelines.
